SERVICES and RATES MLC also offers consulting and presentations to parents, schools, and school administrations. Please see the bottom of this page for pricing and tutoring process information.
PRICING Meyers Learning Center rates vary based on the location of service. We meet students in their homes, at our Cupertino office, or at a mutually agreed upon location. We charge an additional fee for out-of-office sessions due to the travel time required. We hire only highly qualified tutors, and we compensate them accordingly. Because we apply our high standards to all of our educators, rates do not vary by tutor.
All rates are subject to change. Each year, we donate a portion of our profits to charitable causes. TUTORING PROCESS Step 1: Contact Meyers Learning Center to discuss your child’s needs and ask us any questions about our services. You can fill out the form on the Contact Us page of our website to begin the process or call 650-544-5645. Step 2: Discuss your child’s needs on the telephone (typically 15 – 20 minutes). We will make every effort to return your call within 24-48 hours of hearing from you. Based on our initial phone conversation with you, Ali or Adam Meyers will select the tutor who is best suited to work with your child. Step 3: The next step will be to schedule an initial consultation. This meeting involves the tutor, at times an MLC manager, at least one parent, and the student – all together. This typically happens in your home but can be arranged at the MLC office in Cupertino if you prefer. The purpose of the initial consultation is to discuss goals and expectations and for you to meet the tutor and ask any unanswered questions you have. It is also an important step in ensuring and building a strong rapport between the student and tutor. The fee for this (typically) one-hour meeting is $85. Step 4: Assuming everyone agrees it’s a good fit, you will schedule tutoring session times directly with the tutor. It is critical for the parent and student to speak (we recommend privately) after the meeting to ensure the student’s buy-in and willingness to participate; the student who wishes NOT to have tutoring will make the tutoring ineffective. But the student who is open and willing to try stands to benefit enormously. Step 5: Tutoring begins and the tutor will communicate with you regularly--either by stopping each session 5 minutes prior to its end to discuss progress and/or emailing you the weekly lesson plans with progress comments noted. Just let the tutor know what you prefer. Step 6: Meyers Learning Center will send you monthly invoices; no payments need to be made during tutoring sessions. Step 7: Meyers Learning Center will contact you periodically for any feedback you have. In the meantime, we encourage you to contact us anytime you have questions or feedback to share. We want to make sure that every student maximizes the benefit of working one-on-one with our excellent teachers. |
